Tasting note
Harvested by hand at technical maturity (250–275 g/l sugar) into 20 kg crates and sorted by hand. Deep ruby colour. Plenty of black fruit on the nose with rich spice, some smoke, and toasty notes from oak that add complexity. Very expressive peppery, black-fruited nose. Big on the palate, with intense dark cherry, plum and warm liquorice. A long finish with good depth and richness, smooth tannins and the potential to age.
